Celebrating International Women’s Day: Natasha Neal
March 8th is International Women’s Day. Here we talk to LoveHoney’s Senior Australasian Marketing Manager, Natasha Neal, about her thoughts on the global celebration and if it’s actually useful to women.
What does InternationalInternational Women's Day mean to you?
An opportunity to stand back, recognise and celebrate of all of the incredible, powerful and inspiring Women, past and present, across the Globe
What do youyou believe can be done to address gender stereotypes?
Speak up and take action when you see inequality. Be bold, be brave and be confident to learn the skills that interest you, wear the clothes you want to wear and grab opportunities that excite you, whatever your gender.
What progress havehave you seen on gender equality in your life and work?
So many! In the workplace, I have seen a number of my female colleagues, including myself, taking on more senior roles in business and excelling in their careers. I recently attended the top 50 people in E-commerce, and it was fantastic to see two inspirational women take 1st and 2nd place.
As part of IWD we have been working on a campaign - a wall of empowerment - and there are so many women taking control of their lives and passions in their own way, loving their bodies and themselves and striving for greatness.
What progress havehave you seen on gender equality in your life and work?
Be proud of all that you are
What will youyou be doing to celebrate IWD?
I’ll actually be flying out to Sydney to join 40 women at Yotpos AWIE International Women's Day
What are thethe most effective ways to counteract the negative stereotypes of feminism, especially in the workplace?
With anything, I think education is key - recognising and addressing negative stereotypes when we see them.
What does itit mean for you to be a women leading the sexual wellness space?
I love working in the sexual wellness space and seeing attudes shift and change around sexual happiness and sexuality. Seeing first hand the women I work with, both within Lovehoney and our customers, feeling empowered to celebrate their sexuality, their bodies and desires without shame is incredible.
Share a women’swomen’s empowerment moment that inspired you?
I think most recently this has been the 50+ women sharing their stories with us for our Wall of Empowerment. It captures inspiring women from many walks of life, sharing their views on feminine sexuality and how you can feel more empowered, whether you’re in work or in the bedroom.
