Dildos or Decor? The new Lucent collection blurs the lines.
The new ‘Lucent’ range by Share Satisfaction has launched, with the glass toys more reminiscent of everyday decor than your usual silicon wonders. This new range of gender neutral toys is blurring the lines between beauty and pleasure.
The crystal and glass range may look like they belong in the china cabinet, tucked away only for use when special guests visit, but no – The new range by Share Satisfaction is not only beautiful but includes 30 different products set to help you explore pleasure outside of usual silicon toys.
Made from borosilicate glass and crystal that can be warmed up or cooled down for experimenting with temperature play. Due to the materials used, Lucent products are a more environmentally friendly option, are 100% body-safe and built to last a lifetime.
Taslim Parsons, Share Satisfaction’s Business and Product Development Manager, said the range was created due to a gap in the market for beautiful, affordable, high-quality glass sex toys in New Zealand.
“Glass toys are growing in popularity because their firmness is perfect for internal massage, and they can be warmed up or cooled down before use to experiment with temperature play. They’ll also last a lifetime if you look after them, making them a more sustainable option.”
Taslim said that while sex toy beginners may gravitate towards sex toys that pulsate, wiggle or vibrate, glass sex toys are the ‘acoustic’ version of sex toys suited for more experienced users who are looking to try something different.
“Lucent products are suited for people who are on a pleasure journey. They are pleasure seekers of any gender who are looking to try something new and are wondering what more there is to explore. They know their body well and what they like, and willing to get back to basics and explore the sensations that temperature play, and rigid, non-vibrating toys can offer,” Taslim explained.
Is this thethe future of toys?
Although silicone toys have seen a boon recently due to the ever evolving digital nature of vibration, suctions and all the other things that make them worth owning, there is an argument to be had now about where toys are heading as they become more destigmatised.
The New Zealand sex toy market is worth approximately NZ$30 million per year, and sales of glass sex toys have increased by 47.59% since 2020, according to data from Wholesale Solutions, Australasia’s largest distributor of adult products and the creator of the Share Satisfaction brand.
Now, people are turning more towards products they can be proud to display, own and recommend. The Lucent range is one such that fits into the growing mould of wanting beautiful yet effective products. Speaking to Nak-Ed in February, Taslim from Share Satisfaction explained how she was working to change the narrative, and to move the industry forward to a more accessible light.
One such hope included seeing the likes of department stores profiling the popular products.
“Part of 2022 for us now is growing the range and talking to non-adult retailers. My vision is to be able to walk into a Farmer’s or a David Jones and see a concession stand with luxury sex toys.”
Although a bold mission, when you see Share Satisfaction’s latest product line, Lucent, it’s clear that the company are serious about creating products that could just as easily be displayed next to crystal wine glasses.
“What we’re supplying is evocative, beautiful and magical. We’re channelling our magic and we’re keen to collaborate with non adult brands that are about wellness and pleasure, whether that’s physical, emotional or sexual wellness because all are linked,” she said.
Lucent glass and crystal sex toys are available at leading adult retailers in New Zealand and from mainstream retailers that stock Share Satisfaction products.
